Our commitment


We are committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment for all our employees and others affected by our activities; including customers, visitors and the public at large. Health and safety is a strategic aspect of our business and ranks alongside other facets including care of the environment, quality, customer service and the interests of our stakeholders.


We discharge our commitment by:


  1. Providing adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities.
  2. Consulting with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
  3. Providing and maintaining a safe working environment including plant and equipment.
  4. Ensuring safe handling and use of substances.
  5. Providing information, instruction, training and supervision for all employees commensurate with the tasks which they perform.


Responsibilities


  1. The MD together with the Leadership Team are responsible for providing health and safety leadership.
  2. The MD and the Leadership Team ensure that their decisions reflect this Policy Statement.
  3. The Director, Safety, Legal and Corporate Services ensures that the MD and the Leadership Team are kept informed of relevant health and safety issues.
  4. All employees have a legal responsibility in respect of their own safety and that of their work colleagues, and also to co-operate with their employer in safety matters.
